Martin Sheen, who has played the role of the U.S. President and Spiderman’s uncle, now plays the role of host of an educational TV program. The award-winning and well-respected actor hosts the In Focus TV series, which runs on many public television outlets across the country. The Martin Sheen PBS series explores agricultural topics, medical stories, business stories and much more.

Sheen introduces segments of the In Focus Martin Sheen series, which highlights promising developments and stories in all parts of America. Sheen has established himself as one of America’s best-known and most-respected actors during his award-winning career, which began in the 1960s.  Sheen has won praise for many of his roles over the years, such as movies like “Badlands” and “Apocalypse Now” and TV series like “The West Wing.”

Martin Sheen is well known for his work with worthwhile causes.

In Focus PBS is proud to continue its relationship with legendary actor and philanthropist Martin Sheen.

Mr. Sheen has been an important part of American film and television history. He has played iconic characters on the big screen including celebrated roles in Apocalypse Now and Badlands and is more recently known for his turn as President Bartlet on the award winning NBC drama The West Wing.

In Focus with Martin Sheen is a TV show that brings stories of advancement, science, education and charity. In that regard, Mr. Sheen is a leader by example.

Over the years, Martin Sheen has given his time and money to a variety of worthwhile causes. His devotion to the causes he cares about continues. The TV program host is involved with causes ranging from fighting pollution to protecting marine life through ocean conservation.

Sheen is also heavily involved in the Walkabout Foundation which works for a cure for paralysis and provides all terrain wheelchairs to people in need.

Just last year, Sheen’s son Emilio Estevez premiered a film on the subject. At the debut, Estevez and his father secured former President Bill Clinton to serve as the keynote speaker for the event.

Sheen also works in the homeless community raising awareness and funding for shelters through his work with the St. Francis Food Pantries and Shelters organization. He is also a spokesperson for the American Association of Retired Persons.

Over the years, Mr. Sheen has also been a noted political activist. He’s participated in several demonstrations over the years, some of them leading to arrest for the actor. Yet he continues to hold strong conviction to the causes he cares about.

The way you look at PBS is changing.  Many think all PBS has to offer is great children’s programing and Antiques Roadshow.  Those people will be pleasantly surprised to see In Focus with Martin Sheen, a lifestyle news show covering topics significant to people universally.

Martin Sheen brings great dignity and credibility to every role he plays, often collaborating with his sons.  Recently he played Tom in The Way, directed by son Emilio Estevez.  Sheen also played Jack in the movie Bobby, also directed by Estevez.  Martin Sheen can be seen playing small roles in both Two and a Half Men and Spin City, staring his other son, Charlie Sheen.  This dedication to family makes Martin Sheen a perfect host for In Focus Martin Sheen, which is devoted to enriching the lives of families across America.
